Jess takes pleasure in applying her love of problem solving to incredibly complex but beautifully crafted historic or bespoke buildings. She particularly enjoys the opportunities for detailing, traditional materials and craftsmanship that can arise from private residential projects.
Prior to working at Tonic Architecture, Jess spent time at Bristol based Pad Design and international architects Chapman Taylor. She has gained experience in retail, leisure, mixed use and residential sectors, including large urban design and masterplanning projects, a 26-story residential tower and several individual private dwellings.
Originally from the North East, Jess studied BA(Hons) Architecture and Planning and Master of Architecture at the University of the West of England, Bristol. On completion of her Master’s, Jess was awarded the UWE 3D Reid Student prize for her design thesis, gaining a place among the nationally recognised student projects of 2018.
Aside from architecture, Jess is never too far away from a dog, hockey pitch, cake or mountains.
